Importing data

The Data tab shows what Stockpace has read from Shopify, lets you read it again, and imports your history from Inventory Planner (by Sage) if you are moving from it.

What Stockpace has read

Row What it shows Buttons
Shopify variants Active and draft variants, and how many products they make. Listings with the same barcode or SKU are counted with their main product —
Orders (sales) How many orders, since when, and how many order lines are tied to a product Update reads new and changed orders now. Re-read 2 years reads all orders again
Stock at your stock locations When stock was last read, and where stock history comes from Read now

Orders are read automatically every 30 minutes and stock every hour, so you only need these buttons after a big change, such as a bulk product import. Started. This page updates when it finishes. confirms a read has begun.

Sales, per-day rates, forecasts, ABC classes and order quantities are always calculated by Stockpace from your Shopify orders. Nothing is taken from another system for these.

Import from Inventory Planner

  1. In the Import from row, choose Inventory Planner (Sage).
  2. Press Import ip-export.json and choose the export file.

You don't make this file yourself: email support@stockpace.app and we prepare ip-export.json from your Inventory Planner account for you, free of charge. Inventory Planner's own CSV downloads can't be imported directly.

When it finishes, Stockpace shows what was imported, for example Imported 42 vendors, 12 email templates, stock history for 3,120 variants, 640 purchase orders (18 open). Next PO number 10500.

What is imported

Data How Stockpace uses it
Vendors and their settings Become your vendors, with emails, lead times and other settings
Email templates Available as each vendor's Email template
Stock history Tells the forecast which past days a product was out of stock, and fills Stock history before Stockpace started reading stock
Purchase orders Kept as a read-only archive under All, incl. Inventory Planner archive in the purchase orders list. Your PO numbering continues from the highest Inventory Planner number

Imported purchase orders do not count as on order in Stockpace. Receive any open Inventory Planner POs as you did before, or create the order again in Stockpace and press Mark as sent so its units count as on order.

Importing again

Press Re-import ip-export.json to import a newer export. Vendors you created in Stockpace, and changes you made to imported vendors, are kept.

Tidying up imported purchase orders

In the purchase orders list:

  • Close invoiced Inventory Planner POs… — sets open imported POs whose supplier invoice is linked for certain to Closed. Likely (⚠) matches are left open for you to check. Only the status in Stockpace changes. Reopen N closed here undoes it.
  • Delete Inventory Planner POs… — deletes the open ones or all imported POs. POs made in Stockpace are not touched. A copy is kept, and Restore N deleted puts them back. Importing the export again also brings them back.

Click an imported PO to see a read-only copy of it.

Other systems

The Import from list also names Stocky (Shopify), Prediko, Cogsy, Katana, Cin7, Zoho Inventory and Spreadsheet (CSV / Excel). These imports are not available yet. Choose one, add a note if you like, and press Request this — we build the imports merchants ask for. For a system not on the list, choose Other…, type its name and press Request.

Listings counted with other products

Under the import, Listings counted with other products lists order lines whose sales are added to one of your products — for example old or deleted listings, marketplace placeholder listings, and copies with the same barcode or SKU.

Column Meaning
Order line name, SKU on the order The line as it appears on orders
Units 365 d Units sold in the last 365 days
Tied by name, code (SKU, barcode or supplier code), manual (set by you), group (same barcode or SKU), or not tied
Counted as The product whose sales include it

Rows marked not tied with sales are highlighted: those units are not counted for any product. Click a row to:

  • search for the right product and click it to tie the listing to it;
  • Do not count these sales; or
  • Back to automatic.

The product panel in Replenishment also shows Where the sales come from for each product.
