Sales channels and locations

Sales channels decide which sales Stockpace counts as demand, and stock locations decide which stock it counts — together they shape every recommended quantity.

Which sales count as demand

Open Settings → Sales channels.

The boxes list every channel you have orders in, plus Wholesale. The number next to each is the orders in the last 365 days. Untick a channel to leave its sales out of the forecast — for example:

  • Amazon FBA, when Amazon sells from its own warehouse and you buy that stock separately;
  • Wholesale, when bulk trade orders are one-off deals that would inflate your normal demand.

Fewer channels counted means smaller orders. Press Save settings at the bottom of the page.

Channels Stockpace recognises include Online Store, Point of Sale, Draft orders, Shop app, Facebook & Instagram, Google & YouTube, Amazon FBA, Amazon FBM, eBay, TikTok Shop and Mirakl. Any other sales channel is listed under its own name.

A vendor can have its own choice — see Vendors. The Amazon FBA and Wholesale switches at the top of the main page override this for your browser only, as a quick what-if — see Replenishment.

Wholesale orders

Wholesale is counted on top of the channel an order came from. An order counts as wholesale when:

  • Wholesale discount codes start with — it uses a discount code starting with one of these prefixes (for example TRADE_), or
  • …or the order is tagged — it has one of these order tags (for example wholesale).

Separate several with commas. Saving a change reads your orders from Shopify again, which takes a few minutes.

Shopify B2B company orders are not recognised as wholesale yet; use a discount code or tag for them.

Where your orders come from

The table Where your orders come from lists every order source as Shopify records it — sales channel, source name, marketplace tags such as FBA or eBay, and, for orders shipped by Amazon, the Amazon location — with its orders in the last 365 days, all orders and the last order date.

Each source is filed under a channel automatically, shown in Counted as. If one is wrong — for example a marketplace connector that marks Amazon FBA orders in its own way, so they are counted as FBM — choose the right channel. All past and future orders of that source follow at once, and Stockpace tells you how many were re-filed. your choice marks sources you changed; choose the option marked (automatic) to undo it.

Stock locations

Open Settings → Stock and tick the Shopify locations whose stock you own and want to count. When you first install Stockpace, the locations that fulfil your online orders are ticked.

Leave out stock held by a marketplace, such as Amazon FBA — it is not yours to count, which is also why those sales are usually left out of demand. Press Save settings.

The ticked locations are also the ones you can deliver purchase orders to and receive stock into.

Planning per location

On the Growth plan and above, when you have more than one stock location, a Plan for drop-down appears at the top of the main page:

  • All stock locations together — stock of every ticked location, all sales and all POs.
  • One location — only that location's stock, the sales shipped from it (Point of Sale sales: sold there), and the POs delivered to it. New POs you create in this view are delivered to that location.

Orders that have not shipped yet count once they are shipped. Amazon FBA sales are never counted against one of your own locations. Days out of stock per location are known from the day Stockpace started reading stock per location.

The Plan for choice changes the Dashboard, Replenishment and new POs. Inventory KPIs, Stockouts and Stock history always show the whole store.

Purchase order destination

Each PO has a Destination — the location it is delivered to. Its address is printed on the PO as Ship To, the PO counts as on order at that location, and Receive into stock adds the units there by default. You can still choose another location when the goods arrive. See Purchase orders and Receiving stock.
